Coiled Tubing Unit

A Coiled Tubing Unit (CTU) is a self-contained, mobile hydraulic system used to intervene in live oil and gas wells without killing them. It features a large reel of flexible, continuous steel pipe, an injector head for inserting pipe, a control cabin, and a power pack. Key applications include wellbore cleanout, stimulation (acidizing), nitrogen services, and logging.

Core Components

• Coiled Tubing Reel: Stores the continuous string of steel pipe (typically 9 to 88.9 mm diameter).

• Injector Head: Straightens, inserts, and retrieves the tubing into the well.

• Power Pack: A hydraulic power unit that drives all system components.

• Control Cabin: Features data monitoring and controls for operation.

• Well Control Equipment (BOP): Ensures safety during pressure operations.
